The amended version of Assembly Bill 569 allows driver schools to be established closer than 1,500 feet from Department of Transportation offices, removing a previous restriction. It also adjusts the rules for small municipalities, increasing the population limit for exemptions from 10,000 to 15,000 and eliminating the requirement regarding the size of the business district. These changes aim to make it easier to open driver schools, especially in less populated areas, which could enhance access to driver education and improve local economies.
