Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 5102 include clarifications on where medical examinations for injured workers should be conducted. Now, it specifies that the examination should be held at a location that is convenient for the worker or, if appropriate, through telemedicine. Additionally, the revised bill limits the total number of examinations per claim to one before a final decision on a new claim and one for permanent disability evaluation, with allowances for further evaluations based on treatment. These changes aim to make the process more accessible and efficient for injured workers, reducing unnecessary examinations while ensuring they receive timely care.
