The amendment to Assembly Bill 967 broadened the definition of "judicial officer" by including various types of judges and court commissioners, such as tribal judges and both temporary and permanent reserve judges. This change matters because it ensures that more judicial figures are protected under the new law that keeps their security profiles private, promoting safety for a wider range of individuals involved in the justice system.
