Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 35 clarify how the Department of Transportation (DOT) will handle emergency contact information for license and vehicle registration applicants. The revised bill emphasizes that this information cannot be shared with anyone except for the applicant or law enforcement agencies. This change is important because it enhances privacy protection for individuals while still allowing authorities access to vital contact details in emergencies. Additionally, the amendments specify when the law will go into effect, providing a clear timeline for implementation.
