Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Assembly Bill 394 clarify the driver education grant program by specifying the purpose of the grants and defining eligible courses more clearly. Now, the grants can only be used for courses specifically aimed at helping individuals obtain an initial operator's license for "Class D" vehicles. This change is important because it narrows the scope of funding, ensuring support is focused on helping young drivers successfully meet their licensing requirements.
