CMS, Please Empower Parents
Last week, you met and had a great opportunity to set the tone for the semester and address a number of problems Charlotte schools are facing with lagging performance and declining attendance. Instead, you decided to try and sneak through yet another attempt to rob parents of their rights to teach their kids about sensitive moral questions.
- First, you tried to push a LGBT revisionist agenda by changing the bathrooms kids use.
- Second, you tried to push your agenda by getting kids to read books about transgender crayons and cross-dressing boys.
- Third, you tried to push your agenda under the disguise of anti-bullying curriculum.
Now, you're trying to again rob parents of their rights by pushing a LGBT political agenda under the cover of multiculturalism. You want to add as part of CMS mission to "acknowledge and intentionally incorporate ['gender/gender identity/expression, sexual orientation'] diversity throughout the curriculum, instruction, and professional development."
Let's call this what it is: an attempt by CMS to disempower our parents--and thus decrease school attendance--by going to any means and message necessary to push through a revisionist LGBT political agenda!
Every time CMS has tried to take the rights of parents away, we have contacted you through email, phone, and by attending your meetings. You have mocked us in your internal emails, but we plead for you to listen to us today.
Please vote AGAINST the revision, and support empowering parents to discuss sensitive topics of sex and sexuality in the privacy of their homes.
Thank you.
