Dominion proposed Pipeline route is ALL PAIN
As a concerned Virginian, I am contacting you in opposition to Dominion’s proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP). I strongly urge you to oppose the ACP, which is ALL PAIN and NO GAIN for my neighbors and me. The ACP is ALL PAIN for the property owners whose lands are being devalued and expropriated. It is ALL PAIN for our environment, which is susceptible to water contamination, forest fragmentation, and rare species endangerment. It is ALL PAIN for our local small businesses, which rely on clean water and beautiful views to attract customers. It is ALL PAIN for our public safety and peace of mind. It is ALL PAIN for our local heritage and history, as the ACP’s path cuts through historic communities, Native American settlements and slave cemeteries. Most of all, it is ALL PAIN for future generations, which would inherit a scarred landscape forever. There will be NO GAIN for our energy prices, which will not be decrease with the construction of the ACP. There will be NO GAIN for employment, as the limited number of jobs created by the ACP will be given to out-of-state, unionized tradespeople while local agriculture, construction, and tourism suffers. This pipeline will scar some of the most beautiful land in the country, negatively impacting our community forever. I urge you to stop the proposed ACP route and force Dominion to seek a responsible alternative that protects the environment and our property rights.
This message will be sent to your State and Local elected officials
