OPPOSE IL HB 4107
I am a supporter of Firearms Policy Coalition and I write to you today to oppose HB 4107. This bill could easily ban virtually any device, part, or accessory -- including OEM parts that have been refined or machined by a licensed gunsmith -- that regulators or law enforcement believes could, as the measure states, "accelerate the rate of fire." HB 4107 will also ban most common modern sporting firearms by arbitrarily naming them "Assault Weapons" AND any part that could be "attached" to one.. thats right it bans assault attachments. HB 4107 not only bans guns based on cometic features and vague definitions of accessories or attachments, and not only does it ban guns based on its perceived potential "rate of fire".... it also bans them based on caliber , weight or fixed magazine capacity. This measure is so broad, so vague, so all encompassing, it may very well criminalize everyday law-abiding gun owners simply for having a common firearm and/or virtually any part, attachment or accessory. Its full broad reach can not be understated. I urge you to reject this measure.
