Transgender crayons

Even after the concern we raised over transgender unicorns, Jacob's New Dress, and Red: A Crayon's Story, you still proceeded with a lesson plan for children as young as 5 about transgender crayons. You simply chose the end of the semester to hide it under an incredibly vague parental permission still, while maintaining the heart of the curriculum and book we opposed.

This should be the responsibility of parents, especially given the sensitivity of the topic.

When you heard the outcry from parents, legislators, and pastors, you removed books like Jacob's New Dress from the curriculum. However, instead of teaching 1st-graders about boys wearing dresses, you're now teaching 1st-graders about transgender crayons. The book is another attempt to push transgender curriculum on our children, and is no better than Jacob's New Dress. Imagine how confusing it is for a 1st grader to be told a red crayon can actually identify as a blue, let alone that boys can be girls and girls can be boys. You may have heard from us, but you are STILL not listening.

Clearly, you saw Jacob's New Dress as an inappropriate book to force upon 1st-graders. Red: A Crayon's Story is just as inappropriate, and we ask that it be removed as well. We also ask that you please cease from replacing it with any other book that is also inappropriate.

We hope that while the outgoing Superintendent and current School Board has shrugged off our concerns, the incoming Superintendent will hear our voice.
