Oppose AB 424!
I stand with Firearms Policy Coalition in strong opposition to AB 424 (McCarty). AB 424 removes the long time practice of allowing school district superintendents and/or their designees the ability to decide who (if anyone) would be allowed to possess a firearm on school grounds. Even with the passage of SB 707 (Wolk) in 2015, this authority remained as a recognition that local education officials were most likely to be in the best position to make decisions about the safety and protection of their students and staff. Please vote NO on this measure when it comes up.
