Vote NO on the Midnight Rules Relief and REINS Acts
As your constituent, I write to you today to urge you to vote against the Midnight Rules Relief Act and the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act. These bills would fundamentally change how our regulatory process works and have the potential to undo crucial protections for everyday Americans. If the Midnight Rules Relief Act is enacted to change the Congressional Review Act, Congress could quickly undo crucial labor rights and nondiscrimination rules that were issued in the last six months of the Obama Administration, but took years to develop. And both of these bills would dramatically shift the balances of power in our democratic process in an unnecessary and disturbing manner. That is why I and organizations like Bend the Arc Jewish Action, of which I am a supporter, urge you to oppose these bills. Thank you for your consideration.
