Dear School Board Member

I’m writing to you today about the importance of increasing access to arts education in our schools, because I believe it is vitally important for our children’s success.

The impact arts education has on our children is profound. It not only enriches their lives, but it also helps them develop lifelong skills such as critical thinking, creative problem solving, and innovation. And, studies show arts education can also help improve attendance, raise standardized test scores and passing rates, and increase graduation rates and post-secondary enrollment.

So what can you do to access these benefits for students in our school district? Ensuring a rich range of arts classes are accessible, hiring and supporting certified arts teachers, and integrating arts education throughout the curriculum, are just a few ways in which you can take action.

Increasing the amount of arts education accessible to our children will help open the doors to opportunities for a bright future.
