Vote yes on AB 74 for the health and safety of California's Children!
I write to urge you to support AB 74 (Calderon) - Community Care Facilities: Annual Unannounced Visits when it is heard on the Senate floor. AB 74 would require annual unannounced inspections of all licensed child day care centers and family child care homes on and after January 1, 2019. California facilities are typically visited once every five years and unless a facility has complaints and/or compliance problems. This gives parents and families false expectations on the health and safety of their children in licensed child care. AB 74 would not only provide parents with more confidence in their choice of care, but will also ensure California's compliance for the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act of 2014. CCDBG requires states to implement higher health and safety standards through annual inspections for licensed child care settings. California has a long way to go to comply will all the CCDBG standards, but AB 74 addresses one key component and gets our state one step closer. Please give AB 74 your aye vote!
This message will be sent to your State Senator.
