Oppose expansion of disreputable monkey facility in Hendry County

I am writing to urge you to stop the expansion of primate breeding facilities in Hendry County. These disreputable facilities were allowed to gain a foothold in the community through concealment and deception. They are not agricultural operations, rather they engage in cruel and unnecessary experiments on animals. They operate in secrecy and reduce property values through their repugnant operations.

There are already more than 23,000 monkeys imported into the U.S. each year. Another 50,000 are sitting in colonies waiting to be used in research. We don’t need more. Modern scientific technologies allow for numerous effective means to carry out research without using animals. 

Please oppose this expansion using the power of your office and whatever legal authority Hendry County has, to shut down these monkey facilities entirely.
