Oppose Voucher bills SB 2, HB 52 and HB 58 that would rob money from already underfunded Texas public schools!

Act today! Remind your legislators to oppose bills which rob money from already underfunded Texas public schools!!

Oppose voucher bill SB 2, a voucher bill. SB 2 contains Education Expense Assistance and a state premium tax
credit. Tax Credit vouchers would allow businesses or individuals to count donations to private
school “scholarships” against state premium tax liability and would funnel taxpayer money to
private and corporate schools for students with a disability.

Oppose voucher bill  HB 52 which would provide an Individualized Education Plan Account (IEPA) type voucher for students with a disability.  The voucher provides 90% of the funding the child would have generated in a public school.  The money would come from the Foundation School Program.

Oppose voucher bill HB 58 which would provide a credit against an entity’s state premium insurance tax liability. This credit goes to fund non-public school tuition managed by an educational assistance organization and thereby diverts tax monies away from public schools to private schools.
