and e a n b 24 WHEREAS, Henry Kiki Saavedra represented house district 10 u [ in the house of representatives from 1977 until his retirement .214405.1 in 2014;

and WHEREAS, playing golf with Representative Saavedra at HM 74 Page 1 the university of New Mexico championship golf course was an experience for those with whom he golfed, but it was always a joyful one filled with laughter;

and WHEREAS, most importantly, capital outlay funds were used e e 17 to build the pavilion at the university of New Mexico e e n d 18 championship golf course, which serves as a meeting place for = = l ] 19 banquets and other functions;

and a l r i 20 WHEREAS, Representative Saavedra died on January 28, 2019;

t e a t and m m 21 e d r e 22 WHEREAS, it would be a fitting honor to Representative c e r c 23 Saavedra to memorialize his contributions to the university of e a n b 24 New Mexico championship golf course by naming the pavilion that u [ his funding support helped build after him;

.214405.1 - 2 - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the board of regents of the university of New Mexico be requested to rename the pavilion at the university of New Mexico championship golf course the "Henry Kiki Saavedra Pavilion";

and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the president of the university of New Mexico also be requested to voice support HM 74 Page 2 for renaming the pavilion at the university of New Mexico golf course the "Henry Kiki Saavedra Pavilion";
