2 October 8, 2025 2025-2993h 07/09 Amendment to SB 186 Amend the title of the bill by replacing it with the following:

3 AN ACT preventing portraits depicting persons from being hung in certain places in the statehouse, unless the subject of the portrait has been dead for at least 10 years and provided exemplary and noteworthy services to the citizens of this state.

Amend RSA 14:14-b to read as follows:

4:9 Portraits or Other Memorials.
Sen.
No portraits, busts, statues, or other memorial objects shall be placed in or on the state house with the exception of those areas under the use and control of the general court as defined by RSA 14:14-b, III, state house annex, state library, Hannah Dustin monument, Franklin Pierce homestead, Daniel Webster birthplace, or grounds connected with each without the consent of the governor and council.Any portraits, flags, busts, statues, or other memorial objects to be placed in or on legislative facilities as defined by RSA 14:14-b shall be at the direction of the joint legislative historical committee in consultation with the director of the division of historical resources, department of natural and cultural resources.

Portraits depicting persons shall not be placed in the statehouse in any area listed under RSA 14:14-b, unless the subject of the portrait has been dead for at least 10 years and provided exemplary and noteworthy services to the citizens of this state.

SB 186 - AS INTRODUCED 25-0980 07/06 STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five AN ACT relative to a portrait in the likeness of Senator Jeb Bradley at the state house.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Joint Legislative Historical Committee;
Senator Jeb Bradley Portrait.
The joint legislative historical committee may accept a gift of a portrait of Senator Jeb Bradley and oversee the hanging of the portrait in the state house.
This act shall take effect upon its passage.
This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
