1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] DIGEST SB 64 Engrossed 2026 Regular Session Hodges Present law requires each public school governing authority to install cameras in certain classroomsandtoadoptpoliciesthatincludeprovisionsfordeterminingtowhomandunder what circumstances the video and audio recordings may be disclosed.
Proposed law retains present law and further requires both the superintendent and his designee or two designees of the superintendent be present during the initial viewing of the recordings after a request has been made.
Effective August 1, 2026.

Changes the required people present duringtheinitial viewingof recordings from the superintendent or his designee and the parent or legal guardian to the superintendent and his designee or two designees of the superintendent.
