9:315.48 is hereby enacted to read as follows:

§315.48.

Vehicular homicide;

child support payments InadditiontothepenaltiesprovidedinR.S.14:32.1,anyindividualconvicted ofthecrimeofvehicularhomicidewhereinthevictimisaparentwith aminor child, the offender shall also be ordered to pay child support pursuant to the schedule for support provided in R.S.

9:315.19.

Requires an offenderconvicted of vehicularhomicide to paychild support if the offense results in the death of a parent.

Proposed law requires any individual convicted of the crime of vehicular homicide, when the victim is a parent of a minor child, to pay child support for the surviving child.
