T Patron––Morefield R –––––––––– WHEREAS, Carl David Bevins of Grundy, a longtime educator, author, and devoted father and O grandfather, died on January 2, 2024;

and D WHEREAS, after receiving a master's degree from the University of Virginia, Carl David "DaveU BevWHEREAS, over the course of his long and distinguished tenure, Dave Bevins supported andools;
anda longtime educator, author, and devoted father and L WHEREAS, after receiving a master's degree from the University of Virginia, Carl David "Dave" L Bevins pursued a career as a teacher and school administrator in Buchanan County Public Schools;
Bevins Elementary School, Hurley High School, Grundy High School, C Whitewood High School, and Russell Prater Elementary School, among others;
Bevins Elementary School, Hurley High School, Grundy High School, E Whitewood High School, and Russell Prater Elementary School, among others;
and E WHEREAS, Dave Bevins also wrote for the Virginia Mountaineer newspaper for more than 30 years andWHEREAS, outside of his career, Dave Bevins enjoyed watching football, supporting the GrundyD High School wrestling team, and traveling;
and D and authored two books, At Random and Growing Up in Grundy;
his greatest joy in life was his beloved family, and he relished every opportunity to pass on his wisdom to his children and grandchildren;
and newspaper for more than 30 years WHEREAS, outside of his career, Dave Bevins enjoyed watching football, supporting the Grundy High School wrestling team, and traveling;
and WHEREAS, predeceased by his wife, Penny, Dave Bevins will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his sons, David and Bobby, and their families, and numerous other family members and friRESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Carl David Bevins;
